Person shot, wounded in northwest Charlotte – WCNC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A person is in the hospital after a shooting unfolded late Saturday evening in northwest Charlotte. A Memphis comedian has shared online that he was shot. 
Medic confirmed to WCNC Charlotte it happened around 9:30 p.m. along Freedom Drive, near Tuckaseegee Road. The person who was wounded was transported for treatment of life-threatening injuries. As of publication, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department hasn’t shared further information.
Mario “Grove Hero” Bradley, a Memphis comedian, posted that he was in Charlotte for the weekend on the “For My People Tour” this weekend with events both Saturday and Sunday at 3321 Freedom Drive, where the shooting took place. He posted on his Instagram story Saturday night saying “they shot me in my spine.” Sunday morning, he posted on his Instagram story sharing he was leaving the hospital and would still attend the Sunday event. 
“I’m going to the same spot, Charlotte, that I got shot in,” he said in the Instagram story.
