First Alert Forecast: Hot and muggy Sunday with south swell slowly subsiding – Hawaii News Now

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – It’s going to be hot and muggy for a few days as Tropical Storm Henriette passes north of the islands.
We won’t get any direct impacts from Henriette, but the system will block the trade winds, bringing humid weather and a a higher chance of afternoon pop-up showers for leeward and interior areas through Monday.
Trade winds should return by late Tuesday as Henriette moves away to the northwest.
The south shore swell will start to decline slightly Sunday but waves on south shores will remain above High Surf Advisory levels, with west shores getting some swell wrap.
East shores will briefly increase from a swell generated by Henriette before declining again Monday.
North shore waves will be tiny, with a small northwest swell expected Sunday night into Monday.
