Transfer news LIVE!
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are among the club looking to make a statement in the final days of the summer transfer window. The Gunners are now said to be keen on signing Rodrygo on loan from Real Madrid as they separately plan a move for Eberechi Eze, whose future with Crystal Palace remains uncertain.
Man Utd are closing in on a deal for Benjamin Sesko and an announcement is expected on Saturday as the striker arrived in the UK last night ahead of undergoing a medical today. Carlos Baleba has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, while Alejandro Garnacho could finally be heading for the exit door with Chelsea being quoted £50million to land the Argentine winger.
The Blues and London rivals Tottenham will be expected to remain active in the market after losing Levi Colwill and James Maddison respectively to ACL injuries. Meanwhile, Liverpool are poised to confirm the sale of Darwin Nunez to Al-Hilal and the funds raised should significantly boost their chances of signing Alexander Isak who is valued at around £150m by Newcastle. Eddie Howe has provided an update on Alexander Isak, with the player still training alone amid transfer interest from Liverpool.
He said: “We’ve had discussions & it’s clear at the moment we can’t have him involved with the group. I don’t know how long that will be for. It’s clear I can’t involve him with the team at the moment.
“He is training later than the rest of the squad. There have been discussions since the tour. I don’t think disciplinary action has happened.
“He is here, so of course he has a future at Newcastle. From our perspective, we would love to have him back with the team, but the situation has to be right for that to happen.”
Willian Estevao has wasted no time at all in capturing the hearts of Chelsea supporters.
He played the first 45 minutes of their friendly meeting with Bayer Leverkusen, marking the outing with a goal.

Yoane Wissa has been left out of Brentford’s squad to face Borussia Mönchengladbach today.
Newcastle have refreshed their interest in the player, and the Bees are prepared to let him leave.
Brentford are lining up a move for Bournemouth winger Dango Ouattara as Newcastle prepare a fresh bid for Yoane Wissa.
The Bees are looking for attacking reinforcements with Wissa, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season, set to follow Bryan Mbeumo out of the club this summer.
Newcastle are preparing a fresh bid for Brentford’s all-time top Premier League goalscorer as they look at replacements for Liverpool target Alexander Isak.

Jack Grealish, James McAtee and Stefan Ortega are all absent from Manchester City’s squad for their Saturday evening friendly against Palermo.
It comes amid ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the trio, with Grealish attracting interest from the likes of Everton and possibly Tottenham, who could snap the England international up on loan.
Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace are among the clubs interested in England’s U21 Euro-winning captain James McAtee, meanwhile, and Ortega is also expected to leave the Etihad after the arrival of goalkeeper James Trafford from Burnley.
Thomas Frank has said Tottenham remain active in the transfer market following that aforementioned serious injury to James Maddison, with Dominic Solanke and Destiny Udogie also still not fully fit.
Asked if Spurs are looking to secure further signings, Frank told reporters: “We are definitely in the market in general.
“Of course, when players get a long-term injury we need to look into that, but generally we are in the market, yes.”
It comes as the Lilywhites suffered a 4-0 at Bayern Munich in their final pre-season friendly.

In other Spurs news, South Korean winger Minhyeok Yang has gone out to Portsmouth for a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old, who arrived in north London in January, spent the second half of last season with Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
He started eight league matches for QPR, scoring twice and registering an assist.
“It’s been a whirlwind few months for Yang since he arrived in England and we’re excited to have him at Pompey,” said Portsmouth boss John Mousinho when the deal was announced earlier today.
“We believe he’s a real prospect and know that Tottenham think highly of him, so this is the next part of his development.”
Tottenham may be forced to dip into the transfer market for a new playmaker after it was revealed that James Maddison must undergo surgery on a ruptured ACL.
Thomas Frank has already reinforced his squad’s attacking options this summer with the arrival of Mohammed Kudus and permanent signing of Mathys Tel, while midfield workhorse Joao Palhinha has just arrived on loan from Bayern Munich.
But none of those players carry the creative force of a Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski – who looks set to miss the start of the season with a knee injury of his own – or indeed Morgan Gibbs-White, who came close to a move to north London before signing a new deal at Nottingham Forest.
It means Frank and Spurs chairman Daniel Levy may have to move quickly to recruit a new star of their ilk, with the start of the Premier League season just a week away.
So, if Spurs were to prefer someone more tried and tested in England’s top flight, where could they look? And what about an up-and-coming former Real Madrid player now plying his trade in Italy?
