Victor Osimhen Transfer News Today: Man Utd begged to sign Nigerian superstar – FootballTransfers

All the latest news on Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen as clubs continue to chase the prolific striker.
Victor Osimhen delivered what appeared to be a farewell message to Galatasaray by saying the club will “forever be in my heart.”
Osimhen’s one-year loan spell at Galatasaray expires at the end of the season and he is expected to return to Napoli before moving on to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
“There are always rumors about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment,” Osimhen said.
“I’m enjoying myself right now. I’m enjoying the club and my life here at the same time. The fans have also been incredibly supportive; all the stakeholders in Galatasaray have helped me since the first day.
“They have always been there for me, not only for me, but also for my friends and family. Now I will fight for the fifth star with my team and a decision will be made at the end of the season on what is best for everyone. Galatasaray will forever be in my heart.”
Galatasaray fans are hoping to convince Osimhen to stay at the club past this summer.
The Turkish side have the chance to clinch the league title on Sunday against Kayserispor and, if they do that, the plan is to organise a big celebration with fans on 25 May at Yenikapı Square.
Milliyet claims that one million Galatasaray fans could be present in an extravaganza that will feature “fireworks, concerts, light shows, and specially designed visuals themed around Galatasaray’s potential fifth star (for winning a 25th league title).”
The hope from the club is that the show will pull at Osimhen’s heart strings and convince him to join Galatasaray permanently at the end of the season.
Osimhen has broken the record for the most goals scored in a season in Turkish history.
The Nigerian now has an incredible 35 goals from just 39 games, more than any foreigner before him.
Osimhen also has managed an impressive eight assists in all competitions.
Wayne Rooney has revealed the three players he wants Man Utd to sign this summer, and they include Osimhen.
“I’d probably sign David De Gea, Manchester United have missed him and I think he could still do a very good job. Victor Osimhen as a number 9. Marc Guéhi from Palace,” the ex-Man Utd attacker told Amazon Sport.
Man Utd are in the race with Chelsea and Juventus for the Nigeria star.
